About Us

Our business first took root in the 1960s, operating out of our working farm’s barn in Porter, ME, where we began dealing and delivering Blue Seal grain. In those early days, we unloaded grain straight from train cars at the local railway, building relationships with farmers and families throughout the region. As demand grew, we moved to a dedicated storefront in downtown Cornish in the 1970s, giving us the opportunity to expand our offerings and serve our community more efficiently.

By the 1990s, our continued growth brought us to our current location, where we’ve built a full-service store grounded in the same values we started with: reliability, hard work, and a genuine commitment to our customers. As a family-owned and operated business, those values guide everything we do. Growing up in the grain industry, Alan Metcalf expanded our operation from selling extra grain out of the family barn to the thriving business it is today.

Today, the store is run by Alan along with Rusty Eastman, Casey Eastman, and Solomon Thibodeau. They’re supported every day by their brothers, sisters, and the next generation - kids who are growing up in the aisles, learning the ropes just like their parents once did. Together, our family continues to carry forward the legacy of service, quality, and community that has defined our business for over half a century.
